Castell Tinboeth, Radnorshire, is an Iron Age hill fort located in a commanding position high above the Newtown - Llandrindod Wells road. A castle was built within the hill fort in the years before 1282, by Roger Mortimer. It was still in use in 1316 but was abandoned to the Crown six years later, when the Mortimer family fell from favour. The castle was ruinous by the sixteenth century and now only a few masonry fragments are visible.
